Once again: the problem of dating Biblical Hebrew
Research output: Contribution to journal › Journal article › Research › peer-review
The article argues that the homogeneous nature of biblical Hebrew morphology and syntax does not warrant the conclusion that they were written over a relatively short period of time. Further, the syntactic similarity of pre-exilic Hebrew inscriptions to one type of biblical Hebrew favours the hypothesis that this phase of the Hebrew language is dated to pre-exilic times.
