In-line coupling of electro membrane extraction (eme) to ms and lc-ms

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingArticle in proceedingsCommunication

A simple to construct and operate, "dip-in" EME probe directly coupled to MS for rapid and selective extraction and direct analysis of various analytes was developed and characterized. With the developed setup it was for the first time possible to demonstrate that, by tuning the electro membrane properties, extremely fast extraction kinetics of analytes can be obtained by EME. The probe could in a consecutive step also be hyphenated to LC-MS (EME-LC-MS) and was controlled by the HPLC-MS software. The setup thereby integrates a whole analytical workflow of rapid extraction, enrichment, separation and detection of analytes.
