Drawing on a range of empirical methods, Zuzanna currently studies (de)legitimation and trust in international courts, and conceptual evolution in international criminal law. Her research is predominantly empirical and interdisciplinary in nature. It draws on insights from International Law, International Relations and Linguistics, and adopts a variety of methods, including discourse analysis, various text analytical methods, and interviews. Her research has appeared or is forthcoming in the European Journal of International Law, Vanderbilt Journal of Transantional Law, Nordic Journal of Human Rights, Journal of International Criminal Justice, Journal of International Dispute Settlement, New York Journal of International Law and Politics and Human Rights Quarterly, amongst others.
In addition to her research, Zuzanna is managing editor of the Nordic Journal of International Law, member of the Coordinating Committee of the European Society of International Law Interest Group on Social Sciences and International Law and co-organizer of iCourts' PhD Summer School and a new PhD course on Social Science Methods for Interdisciplinary Legal Studies organized in collaboration with the Geneva Graduate Institute International Law Department and the European University Institute Department of Law.
She currently teaches and supervises BA theses in Fundamental Rights (Individets Grundlæggende Rettigheder). Her primary interest therein concerns the intersection of artificial intelligence and human rights. Together with Aysel Küçüksu, and in collaboration with Algoritmer, Data og Demokrati and the Danish Institute for Human Rights, she is currently establishing Databasen om Kunstig Intelligens og Individets Grundlæggende Rettigheder, a platform on the use of artificial intelligence in the Danish public sector and its implications for human rights. The project has received funding from Copenhagen University, Illum Fondet and Dreyers Fond.
