My laboratory has long-standing experience in epithelial biology, with a particular emphasis on epithelial differentiation, transformation and mesenchymal interactions. We have established a complex 3D organotypic cultures combining normal and malignant epithelial cells, fibroblasts and T cells. We are using genetic engineering to deconstruct the influence of select genes in the formation of a human tissue, malignant transformation and host pathogen interactions.
