Current research
My research is focused on malaria to investigate how malaria parasites inside erythrocytes interact with the host. In particular, I focus on malaria parasites binding to ICAM-1 expressed at the brain endothelium and on the development of a cerebral malaria vaccine.
Fields of interest
Malaria; immunity; receptor-ligand interactions; recombinant protein expression; antigen design; poly- and monoclonal antibody generation and characterization; ELISA; flow assays
