Pia Rengtved Lundegaard

Assistant professor

I have a background in molecular biology and genetics from the university of Edinburgh, UK. I did my PhD as a collaboration between the lab of E. Elizabeth Patton, MRC Human Genetics Unit, University of Edinburgh, UK.
After finishing my PhD I joined the lab of Professor Søren Peter Olesen, the Danish National Arrhytmia Research Center, at the university of Copenhagen, I then joined the Cardiac Genetics group, headed by professor Morten S. Olesen. I use the zebrafish model organism to understand how function of genes involved in cardiac arrhytmias in human patients and to dentify genetic factors contributing to the development of cardiac arrhythmias.

I have a strong interest in the development and function of the cardiovascular system, and in particularly the contributing factors to the development of cardiac arrhythmias, and the molecular and metabolic processes that are important for the proper function of the cadiomyocytnter,
