My main area of expertise is pathology (diagnostic pathology and research) comprising necropsies and histopathology on production animals, pets, wildlife and Zoo-animals, including in situ detection techniques (IHC, ISH, immunofluorescence). I have worked with a broad spectrum of bacterial- and viral infections (e.g. Chlamydia sp., Coxiella burnetii, Lawsonia intracellularis, Mycoplasma hyosynoviae, African- and classical swine fever, influenza, PCV2, porcine cytomegalovirus, Aleutian Mink Disease Virus, astrovirus) in swine, mink, cows and wildlife – and also carried out animal experimental studies. My teaching experience concerns Human Physiology, General pathology, Special pathology and dissection technique – teaching at bachelor, candidate and PhD level. Furthermore, I have carried out research based advice (commissioned reports) for the authorities.
