My main research interests include most aspects of infectious poultry diseases including epidemiology, pathogenesis and pathology. I have practical experience with important poultry infections such as: fowl typhoid, fowl cholera, salmonellosis, colibacillosis and Gr+ infections. Currently, I am involved in research on avian influenza. In addition, I have an interest in the development of experimental in vivo poultry models. The last ten years I have been increasingly involved in poultry disease projects in the developing world including bangladesh, Vietnam and many African countries.
I teach poultry diseases on the veterinary curriculum and participate in teaching at several post graduate courses at the Department including "Heard Health & Public Health" and Animal Science
I have acted as a resource person for Danida and other agencies on several consultencies in Africa and Asia and been co-organizer and lecturer at several workshops in these regions
