Jakob Seidelin has a Medical Degree (MD), a PhD and DMSc from Copenhagen University and is Professor of Gastroenterology at Herlev Hospital, University of Copenhagen. He is a consultant in Gastroenterology with focus on IBD and is head of the Clinical Research Unit. His main research interests are wound healing mechanisms of the intestine and regenerative medicine in IBD. This is mainly based on in vivo and in vitro studies on human epithelial cells and their interaction with immune cells. Further, Jakob Seidelin is national coordinator and PI on a number of investigator initiated and sponsor initiated controlled randomized trials in IBD.
