Hannes Schroeder is Associate Professor in Evolutionary Genomics at the University of Copenhagen. He received a PhD from the University of Oxford in 2009, and between 2009-2012 was a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the Center for GeoGenetics in Copenhagen, Denmark. His research focuses primarily on ancient genomics and he has a special interest in Caribbean archaeology. In addition, he has a strong interest in understanding how scientific, and specifically genetic information is being used to shape public understandings of the past. Hannes has worked on several TV documentaries, and his research has been featured in Nature, Science, National Geographic, the New Scientist, and on the BBC, among others (link to personal website).
