Dhouha joined Jensen’s group as a postdoc in Oct. 2017. She is involved in the EU funded project Galaxy which has the ambition, by combining unique capabilities in European institutions, to perform integrated systems modelling of multi-omics data together with clinical data. Her research focuses on the development of a strategy based on the use of knowledge extraction methods and data mining for early detection of fibrosis of the liver caused by alcohol. As a first response to this problem:
- she uses the Danish National patient registry data to analyze the past medical records of patients with alcoholic liver disease and to improve understanding of alcoholic liver fibrosis.
- she is developing a new exploratory approach to identify new biomarkers that prevent the progression and development of the alcoholic liver fibrosis before advancing into cirrhosis at the follow-up in at-risk individuals.
