How do data influence diagnostics? Do data change diagnosis and create overdiagnosis? I am a medical doctor using STS, evidence-based medicine and philosophy of science to understand how core concepts in medicine are changing due to scientific, technological, social, economic and organizational developments. I work primarily with analytical and qualitative methods.
For the Ph.D. I work primarily with interviews about how GPs response to data that are created by either patients or themselves. I further analyze methodological limitations of evidence-based medicine when it comes to use of use of data and risk of overdiagnosis.
