Primary fields of research
Primary areas of research include: marine recreation, tourism, maritime spatial planning (MSP), innovation and development of new recreation experiences, resident perceptions of tourism, social impacts of tourism and adaptation strategies, sustainable tourism, tourism indicators.
Current research
The current research activities focus on documentation and GIS-mapping of marien recreation to facilitate the enclusion of the sector into the ongoing maritime spatial planning (MSP) required in all EU member states before 2021. We also try to include tourism - the largest economic sector at sea.
An Innovation Foundation project on development of urban ecotourism in National Park Skjoldungernes Land and Naturpark Amager has just started in January 2017.
Teaching
Responsible for the course in Tourism at the Nature and Culture Communicator education at the Forest School in Nødebo (5 ECTS). In addition I contribute with lecures to the course Outdoor Recreation. I advise a broad range of students on thesis and bachelor projects etc.
