Allan Randrup Thomsen is an expert in the immune defence against viral infections and the impact of the immune response on the course of viral infections.
He heads a research group in Experimental Virology at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences that studies how the immune system controls viral infections. Additionally, the researchers investigates how the individual maintains his/her ability to resist a re-infection.
Allan Randrup Thomsen is updated with regard to the latest knowlegde about viral diseases and is capable of evaluating and commenting on new information regarding outbreaks of acute viral diseases such as influenza or ebola as well as chronic conditions like HIV and hepatitis B and C infections.
