Word, face, and object recognition in posterior stroke: Results from the Back of the Brain-project
Publikation: Konferencebidrag › Paper › Forskning › fagfællebedømt
In the Back of the Brain-project (BoB), we investigated visuo-perceptual deficits in 65 patients with posterior cerebral artery (PCA) stroke and matched controls. Patients were selected based on lesion location in the PCA-territory, rather than behavioral deficits. Visual perception was tested with sensitive, experimental tests across categories (words, objects, faces), and across levels of processing (low and intermediate level vision, as well as higher order visual perception, recognition, and naming). In this talk, I will present the overall results from the BoB-case series, based on both group and single case analyses. The focus is on the higher order deficits in word, face, and object recognition, and how these may relate to lesion lateralization and underlying mechanisms.
