My main research interests lie in the field of primary prevention of chronic diseases with etiological roots in modifiable risk factors, at the individual and structural level. Environmental exposures (air pollution, dietary, etc.) are my primary focus.
In my PhD project I will examine the role of the built environment and indoor pollution on childhood and adolescent health outcomes, including upper and lower respiratory tract infections. The general framework will be to understand how indoor pollution and characteristics of the built environment influence the burden of respiratory tract infections throughout childhood and adolescence.
