The main objective of my research career is to investigate how to increase soil fertility to enhance food production while reducing the environmental impacts associated with agriculture systems. For that, during my research career, I have investigated the of use of different agricultural and urban wastes as organic fertilizers in long term experiment. In addition, I have also studied the use of different organic wastes such as manure, biochar, compost or sewage sludge as fertilizers in agricultural soil. In addition, I have quantified how different management practices can affect soil fertility i.e. organic management, cover crop and tillage or the management of pruning remains. Finally, I have also investigated the use of microbial inoculants to increase soil nutrients availability and crop yield.
