My research covers the histological, neurophysiological, biochemical, immunological, clinical, and therapeutic aspects of oral mucosal diseases and salivary gland dysfunction in particularly autoimmune diseases (e.g. Sjögren’s syndrome, type 1 diabetes), and in relation to medication intake, cancer therapy and drug abuse. Furthermore, my research focuses on identification of salivary biomarkers using omics-technologies.
