Recent years have seen an increasing interest in the role of courts, judges and the legal profession more widely in the social sciences. The traditional focus on judicial behaviour in the US has given way to a greater geographical, methodological and theoretical diversity of research on these questions. The growth of the research field has been spurred by an increase in politically salient and contested court decisions even in countries with a traditionally apolitical judiciary, such as the UK.
The first OxonCourts Judicial Studies Graduate Colloquium at Wolfson College, University of Oxford, aims to give graduate students working on this field the opportunity to share and discuss their research, in particular, work in its early stages, across disciplines.

The event was generously funded by Wolfson College and the PSA Early Career Network.
