Neuromedin U Does Not Act as a Decretin in Rats

Research output: Contribution to journalJournal articleResearchpeer-review

Kuhre et al. investigate the potential of neuromedin U to inhibit glucose-stimulated insulin secretion in a physiological setting. NMU does not affect glucose, insulin, glucagon, and somatostatin. They also cannot detect strong NMU receptor expression on islets, which leads them to conclude that NMU is not a decretin.
