My PhD project focuses on the role allegory in ancient Greek poetics from Homer to Plato. In particular, it focuses on the beginning of allegorical interpretation (or allegoresis) and its possible influences on Plato both as a writer and as a philosopher. Thus, the project is an investigation into the philosophical aspects of ancient poetry and the poetical aspects of ancient philosophy.

I have translated and co-translated more of Plato's dialogues (the Symposium and the Republic among others), and I am memeber of the editorial committee for the new Danish translation of Plato's complete works. As a former employee at the Søren Kierkegaard Research Centre I also have an interest in 19th century Danish and German reception of classics in general and Plato in particular.
