Nicolás Acosta García

Nicolás Acosta García is a cultural anthropologist. His work focuses on the political ecology of development, ecotourism, and biodiversity conservation on local, Afro-descendant, and indigenous peoples. He received his doctorate from the University of Oulu, Finland, and is a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Geoscience and Natural Resource Management at the University of Copenhagen, Denmark.
He is part of the research project "Sustainable value-chains: Aquaponics in Colombia" funded by Danida, where he looks into the politcal ecology of the livelihoods of small-scale fish farmers in Caquetá, a region in the Colombian Amazon.
