My PhD-project is focused on epidemiology, diagnostics and control of the liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, in Danish dairy cattle. We closely look at management system in organic farms, but conventional farms are also included. The project will bring new insight into epidemiology of F. hepatica in Danish context and try to tackle the problem though alternative control that are feasible and practical at the farm level.
My research interest lies on veterinary parasitology particularly on production animals, zoonosis, and wildlife. During my master program in parasitology, I explored prevalence of Alaria alata in different Danish livestock and wildlife, and also studied possible risk factors associated with prevalence of Echinococcus multilocularis through meta-analysis.
