Research Project: Knowing the Future. Prediction, Health Worry, and God
Today´s medicine is increasingly future-oriented, focusing on prediction and prevention of future disease. This development has significant cultural and political, but also personal implications. How does information on future disease impact the life quality of the people affected? And how should we respond to the anticipatory face of today´s medicine? This project explores these questions from the perspective of medical philosophy and systematic theology, by focusing on risk perception, health worry, and possible coping strategies.
