Geopolitics at Eye Level: New Event Series Invites Young People to Explore Global Power Dynamics

There is a lot to make sense of: conflicts, wars and negotiations. Ceasefires and broken promises.

This is the starting point for (af)Magt, a new event series created in collaboration between UCPH Geopolitics, the Danish Foreign Policy Society’s youth section U35, and the University Library in Fiolstræde.

(af)Magt will take place over three autumn evenings in the unique surroundings of the University Library in Fiolstræde, which dates back to 1861. Surrounded by rows of books and the notes of former university professors, we will shed light on key global actors and seek to understand the world from their perspectives.

The first three events will focus on India, China’s new five-year plan, and the implications of the US midterm elections.

The first event in the series will take place on 23 September 2026, focusing on India – the wildcard in a world of (dis)order. We will explore how the world looks from New Delhi from geopolitical, commercial and historical perspectives.

We will be joined by a panel of renowned researchers, diplomats and business professionals, all with extensive knowledge of India.
