UCPH Geopolitics Seed Money
UCPH Geopolitics is now accepting applications for activities planned for the 2026/2027 academic year. All academic staff at the University of Copenhagen are hereby invited to submit applications to UCPH Geopolitics Seed Money, which focuses on supporting interdisciplinary outreach activities within the field of geopolitics aimed at the University’s wider community.
UCPH Geopolitics Seed Money offers grants of between DKK 50,000 and DKK 200,000 for such activities carried out by academic staff at the University of Copenhagen. A total of approximately DKK 1,000,000 will be awarded in this round.
Outreach activities aimed at the wider community may, for example, fall under the categories of public engagement, stakeholder engagement, research dissemination or teaching aimed at the wider community. Projects may involve offering masterclasses/courses/dialogue seminars for practitioners, series of guest lectures, externally focused workshops, podcast series, exhibitions, publicly accessible symposia, seminars, conferences, or other forms of dissemination focusing on the University of Copenhagen’s wider community.
The following criteria will be emphasised in the assessment of applications:
- It is a requirement that the activities for which funding is sought focus on outreach aimed at or involving UCPH’s external community, i.e. stakeholders outside the university
- It is an advantage if the activities for which funding is sought have a clear interdisciplinary basis – e.g. involve multiple disciplinary fields across UCPH
- It is an advantage if the activities for which funding is sought are clearly linked to an ambition for long-term interdisciplinary collaboration of an educational, research-related and/or dissemination-related nature (as suggested by the name ‘Seed Money’).
Applications must be no longer than 5 pages and must include:
- a project description (1–2 pages)
- a CV for the lead applicant (1 page)
- information about partners/co-applicants (1 page)
- an overall budget (1 page)
