KU Geopolitik

Connecting knowledge for a changing world

UCPH Geopolitics

UCPH Geopolitics is an interdisciplinary initiative aimed at strengthening the university’s contribution to society’s understanding of geopolitical change.

Wars, crises, and shifting power balances are currently reshaping the conditions for states, businesses, and citizens alike. This great uncertainty creates a growing need for coherent, research-based knowledge about how global transformations affect the society we live in.

“We are in a time of rapid and fundamental change. With UCPH Geopolitics, we take responsibility for bringing our knowledge into play where it can make a difference – in public debate, in the media, and in decision-making arenas. This initiative demonstrates the strength of our interdisciplinarity and our ambition to benefit a broader audience,” says the Rector of the University of Copenhagen, David Dreyer Lassen.

The initiative aims to make it easier for the public, the media, and decision-makers to access relevant expert knowledge – while also contributing new, cross-disciplinary insights on major global agendas.

UCPH Geopolitics brings together researchers from all six faculties in an academic community that works across disciplinary boundaries to create and communicate up-to-date knowledge about global crises and geopolitical dynamics. In doing so, the University of Copenhagen leverages its uniquely broad expertise to foster a more informed public conversation about a world in rapid transformation.
