My PhD project is a phenomenological investigation of the neuropsychological phenomenon Developmental Prosopagnosia (DP).
DP is an innate condition of face blindness – the inability to recognize human faces. While experimental studies on DP based on cognitive models of typical face perception are numerous, not much is known about the experience of perception and recognition of faces in subjects with DP.
Through phenomenological interviews, the project aims to reach a richer description of DP by investigating the experience of perceiving, imagining and remembering faces.
The project is supervised by Randi Starrfelt and Tone Roald.
