Industrial PhD project in collaboration with Novo Nordisk A/S, Device R&D: Device-tissue interactions in relation to shield-triggered pen devices.
Description: Shield-triggered devices for subcutaneous drug delivery are activated by pressing a shield against the skin and are increasingly demanded for their ease of use. However, very limited knowledge exists on how the skin pressure affects the underlying tissue layers and thereby the intended delivery and absorption of the drug. This project will create an understanding of how device design parameters affect the treatment, to ultimately ensure safe and effective shield-triggered devices for patients.
