Project An aerial view of the pasts work with vertical aerial photos

Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Mathias Christiansen Broch - Speaker

TThis year’s work with aerial vertical photos has focused on three areas of ca. 155 square kilometers. Eleven photo series recorded between 1965-2002 has been analyzed for earth marks. Additionally a vertical photo collection from the summer of 1992 and an online, publicly available photographic orthomap was analyzed for crop marks.
Here the results and experiences are presented. The focus area around Holstebro has previously been analyzed using public manipulated LiDAR data from 2008 and 4 different vertical series. This year’s work attempted to evaluate, if the analysis of multiple aerial series would result in more registrations. In parallel, if this effort could strengthen the interpretation during earlier analysis.
The areas at Djursland and Hobro was not previously touched upon within the project. Here a cost-benefit perspective was in focus.
The attempts with vertical photos testifies to the potential in using online ressources in a systematic way.
