Activity: Talk or presentation typesLecture and oral contribution

Brian Arly Jacobsen - Lecturer

Is the number of religious movements and organisations growing – or is it declining? Is the number of adherents, members and/or practitioners in the religious movements and organisation growing or declining? Questions as these has had political attention both in relation to the general church statistic but also in relation to political debates concerning the number of for instance Muslims or Hindus in Denmark. Demography of religion is about the geographical spread of different religions, the number of adherents and the quantitative changes in the size and the composition of the followers over time. It is also the idea to make a snapshot of the demography of different religions, this means discussing tendencies in number, size and ethnic composition.
