Ongoing projects

Strong experience in conducting and bridging research on infectious diseases between field hospitals in malaria-endemic countries and state of the art molecular biology laboratories in Copenhagen since 2009.

-Project Coordinator, FFU, Mitigating emerging climate-sensitive disease vectors amongst internally displaced communities in Somaliland, 2024-2029.

-Co-Investigator and Work package leader, FFU, Predicting vector-borne disease epidemics: Dissemination of risk forecasting using District Helath Information Software2 in Tanzania, 2020-2025.

-Co-Investigator, FFU, Climate Change and its Adverse Effects on the double burden of Malnutrition and Infectious Diseases among women of reproductive age in Tanzania, 2023-2028

-Course coordinator, International Perspective, International Health, 5^th semester KA medicine, UCPH, encompassing “Summer Course in International Health” and “International Study Exposure – Health Provision in Tropical Africa”; coordination and supervision in Tanzania of yearly 40 Danish medical students, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, 2017 – ongoing.

- Involved in the DANIDA-funded Building Stronger Universities in Developing Countries programme, BSU I, BSU II and BSU III (since 2012 and ongoing), regarding capacity building of laboratory related issues at KCMC (Tanzania) as well as PhD supervisor, course facilitator and teaching; BSU IV Somaliland 2023-2028
